Moscow, 16 September 2024 – X5 Group continues to expand the network of its franchise stores under the Okolo brand. The 400th small-format store was opened at 11 1st Graivoronovsky Drive, Building 2, in Moscow.
The 87-square-metre store offers 2,000 SKUs, including key food and beverage categories. The store supports the X5 Club loyalty programme, enabling customers to earn points and redeem them when shopping at X5’s Pyaterochka and Perekrestok stores. In addition, the latest Okolo store is connected to the X5 Media platform and uses in-store tools to inform customers about promos in Okolo stores.
Igor Pletnev, Managing Director of X5 for Business, commented:
“This ‘milestone’ Okolo store is also the franchise’s 60th store in Moscow. Our franchise is seeing strong demand from Moscow-based entrepreneurs, and we are preparing a number of improvements that are tailored for them and will be launched soon. These include, first and foremost, order automation and convenient mobile app; expanded logistics capacity to improve in-stock availability; and a simplified procedure for new partners joining the Okolo franchise. By the end of the year, we expect to give users in the Moscow region the opportunity to join the Okolo franchise in one click, straight from their personal account.”
The Okolo franchise was created to combine private entrepreneurship with the resources and capabilities of a nationwide retailer. Currently, Okolo-branded stores operate in 16 regions of Russia: the Republic of Adygea, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Karelia, the Krasnodar Territory, the Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Voronezh, Kemerovo, Leningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Novgorod, Samara, and Tver Regions, and Moscow and the Moscow Region.
