X5 to launch its first Distribution Centre in Russian Far East

Khabarovsk, 24 April 2025 – X5 Group (“X5”, MOEX: “X5”), a leading Russian food retailer that operates the Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Chizhik retail chains, has signed an agreement to begin operating in the Khabarovsk Advanced Special Economic Zone (ASEZ). Under this agreement, resident companies will have the opportunity to invest in regional development and implement projects with government support.

As its first investment project, X5 will open a distribution centre (DC) in the Khabarovsk Territory for its Pyaterochka retail chain. The new DC will supply goods to all regions of the Russian Far East where the Company’s stores operate (including the Khabarovsk Territory, Primorye Territory, Jewish Autonomous Region, Amur Region, as well as future projects in other Far Eastern regions). The launch of this facility will support the development of retail in the Far East and help to build a more efficient food retail logistics chain in the region, in addition to creating approximately 500 new jobs.

Pyaterochka’s 49,000-sqm DC will be the first multi-temperature logistics hub in the Russian Far East. It will house a fruit ripening facility and a partial recycling facility, as well as a service site for X5’s online delivery platform 5Post. The DC is designed to handle up to 75,000 tonnes of products per month and is scheduled to open in October 2025.

Resident companies of the Khabarovsk ASEZ are eligible for tax benefits, administrative support and comprehensive assistance from the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation.

Pyaterochka currently operates 232 stores in the Russian Far East, including 141 stores in the Khabarovsk Territory, 8 in the Jewish Autonomous Region, and 83 in the Primorye Territory.
