5Post launches delivery and pickup service for private parcels at Pyaterochka and Perekrestok stores

Moscow, 18 July 2024 – 5Post, an X5 Group subsidiary, has launched a new parcel delivery service for retail customers. In addition to buying groceries and receiving orders from online stores, visitors to any of 5Post’s 20,700 pickup and delivery points located at Pyaterochka and Perekrestok stores in almost 4,000 communities across 63 Russian regions can now send parcels to their relatives, friends, and customers (if the sender is an individual entrepreneur, self-employed individual, or owner of a small business).

Parcels can be registered and paid for online at fivepost.ru and in the 5Post mobile app after verification via X5 ID or Sber ID and then brought to the nearest Pyaterochka or Perekrestok store, where they can be dispatched at a checkout counter or via an automated parcel locker. The parcel will be delivered from the sender’s store to a store or automated parcel locker in the recipient’s community within two days or more. Parcels can also be delivered between stores within one community.

The new service mainly targets people who sell goods via Avito, Youla, Livemaster, and other classifieds websites, have their own small stores on social media platforms, and dispatch orders on a regular basis without signing a contract with a logistics company. The service is also good for sending parcels to relatives, friends, or even colleagues in other communities. Parcels can be of five sizes, from XS to XL, with a maximum weight of 15 kg.

The advantages of the new service include flat rates regardless of the parcel’s size: the cost depends only on the destination. For instance, a delivery from Moscow to St Petersburg will cost RUB 288 regardless of the parcel’s size and weight. Documents or parcels can be delivered within Moscow for as little as RUB 185. Another advantage of the new service is the working hours of stores, which are more convenient than those of conventional order acceptance and delivery points. Specifically, certain stores are open around the clock, offering the service’s users an extra opportunity to dispatch an order to their customers in time or receive a long-awaited parcel.

Vitaly Dyrdasov, Managing Director at 5Post:

“For several years now, we have been successfully delivering and handing out orders from online stores, marketplaces, and online platforms to individuals at X5 retail stores. The new parcel delivery service is a logical next step in developing our business and expanding the range of services we offer. 5Post now offers a hands-on solution for people who send numerous items on a regular basis as well as for those who send parcels occasionally. The new option enables Pyaterochka and Perekrestok customers to buy groceries and send parcels at the same time.”

5Post is confident that its extensive store network, which is accessible to 95% of households, will become popular with customers for sending parcels or documents to relatives and friends and with small businesses and self-employed individuals for handling day-to-day business matters.

When opting to receive an order via an automated parcel locker or at checkout counters, individual customers will experience the high-quality service typical of Pyaterochka and Perekrestok retail stores, while businesses will benefit from stable operational logistics across retail stores guaranteed by X5 Group.
